Poster analysis 1

Departure is a thriller which follows the story of a missing flight 716. This plane vanishes over the Atlantic Ocean and the series follows the incident recovery team that try to uncover this mystery. The colour scheme for this poster consists of dark blue, black and red. These are common colours for a thriller as red has connotations of bloodshed and pain whereas the use of darker blues has connotations of mystery and despair. The red title which is positioned at the middle top of the page is striking and draws the audience's attention to the poster. There are four main images on the poster, three of which are the main characters of the show and a plane placed just below Kendra Malley. Kendra Malley is in the middle of the poster looking forward while the other two characters eyeline and head positions are at different angles. The serious facial expressions are menacing and indicate the genre of the series and the plot which will unfold. The target audience for this thriller series is the age group of around 30+ which is represented on the poster as the main characters are middle aged or older. There are three different fonts used for this poster. The title ‘Departure’ is in a big font and ‘A peacock original’ and ‘streaming sept 17’ are in smaller fonts in white as it isn't the key information on the poster. The background of the poster is a sky view of London as in the series the main location is London.
