Statement of intent

 Statement Of Intent

My print advertisement will comply with the ASA rules. They will not include any offensive images which could cause widespread offence to an audience. My advertisement will not cause physical, mental, moral or social harm to persons under the age of 18. As the posters will be displayed around town and cities, I will ensure they don’t contain any content that could cause upset or harm. My series may contain content which isn’t suitable for all ages due to the crime content within the series. Therefore, the series will be broadcasted after the watershed as there may be distressing imagery. The name of the TV thriller series is ‘Lost Secrets’ as secrets are kept hidden in the midst of a missing person investigation. I have ensured the name isn’t offensive for an audience.

Media Representation

My media products will be bright, engaging and colourful and won't include any violent imagery. I will represent two differing social groups, making my piece inclusive and appealing for all. My TV series is centred around a girl and a boy from different friend groups who both go missing after a night out in southern Spain and the posters will be snippets of scenes in the series and places where the series is set. The two characters have contrasting personalities and this is going to be shown through the posters. The girl on the poster is going to appear distressed whilst on the phone as if she has received upsetting or shocking news.

Media Audience and Media Language

The audience for my posters is 16–25-year-olds. The target audience is clearly going to be represented as the main images will be of two individuals who are in that age category. This is vital as the audience can see themselves being reflected in the posters. This will appeal to the audience as they may share similar experiences with the characters and their storylines. Thriller series are commonly popular amongst younger people so by having two young people on the posters it attracts the same age group. I will use large fonts with an earthy colour scheme using colours such as burgundy, red, black, greens and blues. These are colours which will attract both a male and female audience. I will be using the tag line ‘One night. A missing girl. Secrets buried in the sands of Spain.’ This captures the mystery of the series however doesn’t reveal any key details of the plot, creating a sense of suspense for viewers.
